GUEST,erbert Nuts in May [Mike Leigh] (7) Nuts in May [Mike Leigh] 22 Jul 10

Nuts in May[Mike Leigh] was repeated on BBC4 this week.
Probably the first time I've watched it since 1st transmission in the mid 70's.

[ not available to watch again on BBC4 website,
but according to google uploaded in 5 streaming parts to

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x55y5q_nuts-in-may-part-1-of-5_shortfilms ]

It's still brilliant observational social comedy, my wife had never seen this TV movie before and was in hysterics.
She especially loved the songs.

So considering the 2 lead characters 'folk singer' credentials,
and the existing profitable industry
in movie and tv themed fan cult weekend conventions & festivals..

..trekkies and star wars to name just two groups of obsessive fans
keen to don full costumes for a themed package activity weekend at Butlins..

..anyone ever dared imagine persuading a few friends into dressing up
as the 5 main characters from Nuts in May,
hiring a Morris convertable and Honda moped, and setting off for
a Nuts in May inspired holiday in Dorset ?

wiki provides enough location info
to work out a travel itinerary and events schedule.

"The film is set, and was filmed in its entirety, in the geologically and historically rich Isle of Purbeck area of Dorset in South West England. The characters visit a number of significant points of interest including Corfe Castle, Stair Hole, Kimmeridge, Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. The camp site used for filming was Woodland Camping Park, just outside Corfe Castle and is still used as a camp site today."

then you'd just need a banjo, guitar, a box of matches
and a couple of hefty sticks
to succesfully reinact the entire classic movie.

My mrs is up for it.

I'd prefer to be "Finger" but the wife reckons I'd be more suitable as Kieth ???
