The U.S. now has troops in all the countries that border Iran. The United Arab Emirates are now backing the attack. Saudi Arabia has granted Israel use of Saudi airspace for an attack.

Tarpley once described the oil shortage of the early 1970's in an interesting way, and the scenario he laid out for that event is about to repeat itself. In the early 70's there were too many U.S. dollars floating around the world. And at that time oil could only be bought and sold in dollars. The way to soak up those excess dollars was to jack up the price of oil. So a shortage was announced (there was never any shortage), and oil prices quadrupled. That sponged up the dollars and the currency retained its position as the world reserve.

Same thing's going on today. The dollar is faltering because of insane derivative speculation (uncollateralized paper debt funding fresh debt funding fresh debt, ad infinitum). And the Anglo-American banking establishment is hatching a new war to prop up the dollar. Oil is now bought and paid for in other currencies, but most of the selling is still financed by US dollars, so jacking up the price of oil will once again do what it did in the 70's. The target this time is most likely $500 per barrel, but $1,000 per barrel would be better. For the psychopaths who control the banking oligopoly.
