I'm getting ready for some major (expensive) work on the house. Yesterday I noticed I didn't have any hot water (it was only lukewarm), so I called the plumber. He came out today & said the switch has worn out, and the whole water heater should be replaced. That will have to wait a while, but I can still fire it up by turning the dial up. I just need to plan ahead.

At the same time, I had him give me an estimate on cleaning out the drain that's nearest the furnace. It's too clogged to let the water from the humidifier drain out, so I couldn't use it last winter. They'll be here on Thursday to start on that.

We've had a bit of a break in the hot/humid weather, so I cut the front & side grass. Lots & lots of crabgrass this year. I wish there was some use for the stuff. I could get rich. Also washed the kitchen floor.

Scanned a bunch of old photographs & posted them on my cousin's family tree.
