Murray, I do take your point, and I've heard the same sort of thing said about Joyce Grenfell, with her monologues reminisicent of 'the lady of the house laughing about the quaint ways of the domestics with her chums' but I think time is seeing the likes of Hoffnung, Flanders and Swann and Grenfell into history and their style of comedy is itself quaint and old-fashioned. But still very funny.
