Hi, I have a good story about this song. I learned it for my grandpa's 80th birthday about 10 years ago (learning it again for his 90th. He used to sing it nearly every day in school.

I got married and was visiting my grandfather-in-law a few years later who suffered from moderate dementia. We were gathered around singing songs with the guitar and he would always smile sweetly and say, "I don't recall that one."

Knowing what I do about how recent memories go first, that childhood memories remain, and that he was raised in the same places as my grandpa I told him, "Far far (he's swedish mostly), I will sing a song that only you and I know, that no one else here has ever heard before." I played Utah trail and to everyone's amazement his eyes lit up and said, "I do know that one!" Of course no one else had heard it before saying, "Why don't we know that song, it's a cute song!?" I think it's due for a revival!
