Here's another tip entirely. One January 1st, when my niece was 17 years old, she was almost at an intersection when she realized that the driver on the crossroad (drunk) was running his stop sign and was going to hit her. She quickly turned to the right so that the two cars hit side by side, rather than having the oncoming car crash into her at a right angle. She had learned this idea in driver training at school. Her car was totalled. She walked away, unharmed. I never did hear what became of the drunk.
