Sorry we didn't make the Tass on Monday night Clare B..but after we had arrived,settled in , eaten a meal and drunk a couple of bottles of wine we hadn't the legs for it!! We did however take up your suggestion and called in at the Captain's bar on Saturday on our way between the Royal Oak and Sandy Bell's. It was exactly as you described it and definitely on our list for future visits.
Didn't make it to Penicuik ,Tattie Bogle , but did make it to Nitten on the Thursday and heard Anne sing a couple of her delightful songs.
Actually , when I say "made it to Nitten" ...Gillian came all the way to Morningside to pick us up and take us there. We had a great evening with some very friendly people and then John took us back home. On Sunday we caught the bus to Linlithgow to the brilliant session at the Canal Basin (some great performances and it would be churlish to single anyone out..but I was mightly impressed with the Silver Ladies) and again John brought us back!
Thanks to Gillian , John ,Ian and all the others at Nitten for making us so welcome. What a great club you have there. Hopefully we'll see you all again on our next visit
