The stanza about the bus has been added later, of course, probably by the Folk Process. It may have come from another song or poem, of which I don't know. Anyway, the majority of singers will sing the song *without* the extra stanza.

But, Sylvia, it fits into the story as a humorous comment at the end, the singer's beloved one being taken as well.

Here's my go at the translation:

Love will often let us wait
like a bus that's always late.
When at last it can be spied,
bet it's fully occupied!
