GUEST,Al Singing in Bray (Ireland) (12) RE: Singing in Bray (Ireland) 17 Sep 10

Kat: Knowing how to bray is not necessary, but braying IS acceptable in laughter or in the context of a song. 'Anything goes' in Bray - "from Sean Nós (pron. shan knowss - the old, traditional way)to Sinatra!" (Or Bennett, if you prefer.) Believe me, we've heard that range and beyond at our sessions.

Part of the delight, for me anyway, is not knowing what to expect - except the unexpected. There are always new 'gems' to go along with the sheer joy of people just enjoying themselves in good, clean fun. Actually, it's regularly not that clean, but that's ok too...

Hoping to replicate that in MacTurcaill's, starting this Sunday (see Thread: New singing session - Dublin City Centre).

If you know any local singers, or listeners, they'd be made very welcome at either session. And there are lots of other sessions throughout this fair island.
