People will travel from afar to an open session where they can play/sing(as I do) but if it's apre-booked guest gig in a pub then you must aim for the local catchment area. Unless it is a really well known artist then apart from diehard fans not many are going to travel very far on a Saturday night. The landlord at The British Oak is OK with us publicising other sessions/folk clubs but not happy to publicise Saturday gigs at other pubs - as he puts on live (excellent) music on Saturdays himself.
