Just got home from a great concert: Ed Miller and John Taylor played first, followed by Chris Newman and Maire Ni Chathasaigh. What a tremendous show! At the Fox Theater in Walsenburg, CO! I see by the threads that these folks are not unknown hereabouts, but they are pretty new down here, and most welcomed they were. This is all compliments of the Fifth Annual Spanish Peaks International Celtic Music Festival, here in southern Colorado, Huerfano County, cattle country to be exact. This is the brainchild of Barbara and Jack Yule, of Gardner. Can't get the blicky to work, but it is celticmusicfest.com It is a three day county-wide festival, with concerts, ceilidh's and workshops in various parks, schools and other venues, such as the early 1900's Fox Theater tonight. How fortunate we are! Thanks, Barb and Jack Yule! I think the fact that folks like Ed Miller and Chris Newman et al keep coming back is a strong indication that you are succeeding! Lots more tomorrow and Sunday, with more Ed Miller, Willson and McKee(qv), Kitchen Quartet. Workshops by Chris Newman, Ken Willson and Kim McKee and others. Did I metion Jerry O'Sullivan? Also, Colcannon, and in a couple of weeks, the Tannahill Weavers. Life is good. Thanks, BlueJay
