A lesser known jazz guitarist who folkies should enjoy is George Van Epps. Geoorge's father Fred was one of the two finest early plecrturm banjo players, along with Vess Ossman. George's signature sound come from fingerpicking a 7 string guitar, the lowest string adding additional bass notes. George's musical career stretches back to the '30's and he was still recording in the '90;s. He's well worth tracking down. |
