Vachel Lindsay was a poet and he wrote a poem called "The Moon's the North Wind's Cooky (What the Little Girl Said)" which was published in 1914. This was turned into a song recorded by Burl Ives at least twice - once with an orchestra and once just with his guitar. A great version was recorded by The Hollow Trees for their record Wacky's Tackle in 2010.
