kat, no matter what gargoyle says, you needn't necessarily take Rog's advice on this one. Lightscribe has nothing to do with CD's or DVD's, you can get LS media for both, albeit at a premium in price. I've had three LS DVD burners and the biggest hangups I have with LS labeling is that it's monochrome and the labels take so darn long to burn. I hated waiting 20 minutes for the label to burn on a CD on which it took me 5 or 6 minutes to burn the data. OTOH, if you have LS and decide later you want to get a printer capable of printing on printable media, the LS won't have any effect on the burning process, i.e., your CD/DVD burner won't burn the data on discs any slower because it has LS. I notice three I-O Magic burners on the page you linked. I don't have any experience with that brand, but they seem to have favorable ratings from the few who rated them. Since they're all the same price and one has LS and the others don't if I were to buy one of them I'd probably choose the LS capable one. If you should ever decide to get a printer with CD/DVD labeling capability, you'll find that the difference in price between regular media and printable is far smaller than that between regular and LS media.
