From today's perspective, it does seem embarrassing pretentiousness, and yet would so much air time be devoted to existential questions in ANY programme on air today; I think not, especially since SOUTH BANK SHOW finished. And furthermore, they were in their youth. What have we today ? " I know I can double your investment, Sir Alan" or " Where's the f........ hollandaise ?"
