I speak from firsthand experience. In the Arab countries, men hold hands in public and it is EXTREMELY common to see. It looks funny at first but after a while, you realilze it's just how they express friendship and isn't necessarily a gay thing (for all the railing Islam does against homosexuality, I also found that very prevalent over there). By the way, I've to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.
