Ok, here's a serious question for mudcat military & political historians. What known contingency plans did American & Canadian Allies have in the event of Hitler successfully invading and occupying England/Scotland/Wales ? Would it have lead to a rescue counter-invasion potentially bombing and shelling mainland Great Britain into a ruined wasteland; or might it have been ultimately accepted & tolerated as a consequence of conquest, and European political realignment ?
