The concert is to finance the placing of a 'blue plaque' in Paradise Square, Sheffield to honour Samuel Goodlad, publican, violinist and philanthropist who taught and organised Sheffield's many blind musicians. Goodlad set a high standard and challenged the contemporary view that the blind were of no worth. He created a legacy of fine musicianship amongst these musicians and gave the town's population an appreciation of the blind which may account for the fact that Sheffield created the first school for the blind in UK. Tickets £10 including Pie & Pea supper. Exellent beer brewed on site. Come and support this worthy cause.
