Well, thanks for the kind words, and for the friendly Lincolnshire welcome I received (as ever). I was surprised and very pleased at the result - as usual, there were lots of good songs, and very good performers. Nice to see some familiar faces and good to see this fine event re-established. Sue, despite Tom's assertion, I didn't drive back straight away - Mary won't let me do that any more. It would have been better if I had, then I wouldn't have decided to avoid the M25 by using the M40 instead of the A1/M1, and so I wouldn't have spent that extra 3+ hours in a traffic jam! Ah well, I'm home now... John, I'm delighted to hear that you sing 'Hearts of oak...', makes me feel a bit like a real songwriter... Arthur, 'gallopers' is another name for the traditional fairground carousel with the horses etc - the song was on a fairground theme, triggered by the discovery that there's a company (John H Rundle Ltd) near Boston that still builds and restores these rides. Cheers, Mark
