I used to see him perform with the Country Gentlemen in the 60's at the Fifth Dimension Coffee House in Montreal. Aside from the great musicianship and singing, I loved the choreography of 3 guys on a postage-stamp stage & a single mike. He would swing his banjo up from below past Charlie Waller's nose when he took his break, amazingly never actually touching him. Years later i saw him on TV with the banjo-stand, great idea, those things are heavy! Still have quite a few of their Folkways LPs.
