my da was the plant doctor for the Carling brewery in Cleveland when I was a kid in the forties, fifties and sixties-It was the beer for the Indians and the Browns games, the only sports besides high school football that mattered there. Da felt a sense of loyalty to his employer. so he would drink no other, and we always had a case or two of the stuff around for an eleven year old to try. Da actually got me a 78 record with the "Hey Mabel" song on one side, and a instrumental march version on the other. The Cleveland joke of the time was "Hey Mabel, get off the table, the money's for the beer!" . Not, unfortunately, on the recording....
