Frank Crumit. Not a great composer but wrote some funny quirky songs - The Gay Caballero, Josephine, There's No-one With Endurance Like The Man Who Sells Insurance, The Prune Song etc. A few people used to sing these songs in folk clubs in the 1960's - Diz Disley and Malcolm Price come to mind. Sadly, I think he's more or less forgotten now. |
