GUEST,John Pietaro Phil Ochs' 70th Birth Anniversary, 12/19 (1) PHIL OCHS' 70th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY, 12/19 18 Dec 10

Sisters and Brothers,

As the 70th birth anniversary of Phil Ochs approaches this tomorrow, 12/19, one is immediately drawn to the social ills and struggles around us now, strangely, much of it a mirror image of some 40 years ago. In my piece commemorating what would have been Ochs' 70th birthday, the singer/activist who spent too much of his life in Dylan's shadow is given his just props. Please drop by my blog, The Cultural Worker, to find the piece--- and then make sure you tell at least one friend who is unfamiliar with Phil Ochs amazing brand of protest song to listen carefully and draw the immediate conclusions. It's time for us all to take a stand....in the face of a capitulating Obama and a venomously opportunistic right-wing, it seems about the best time to reconsider "All the News There is To Sing":

Where is the Phil Ochs of These Dangerous Times?

Peace,
John Pietaro
