May I make a nod to the Irish equivalent of the "classicization" of folk, similar to Vaughan-Williams et al. Mainly I would suggest Sean O'Riada who has produced many excellent orchestrations of a plethora of Irish folk melodies. Of course Mr. Tchaikowsky made a brave fist of it in Russia too. Cheers, Davy.
