An earlier post commented: I find stupidity more offensive than so-called bad language. Witness a word the meaning of which is new to the language: rendition FWIW: Not that new, in fact. I remember randomly opening a page of a mid 19C. American text called something like "The State of the American Negro", or similar, written by an African American - it used the term "extraordinary rendition" to describe procedures for return of runaway slaves from Northern states. Seems to have been a legal term at the time?
