I recorded the song Slan Abhaile by Dermot Henry in 1996. The lyric that JIm Dixon references is very like Dermot's. It is not entirely correct, but close. Sadly, Kate Purcell didn't credit Dermot when she recorded it. Dermot Henry deserves credit for the song he wrote - it has been one of the most requested songs I have sung since 1996. The lyrics to his song, Slan Abhaile, begin: The sun is down The moon is blue I think they know I'm missing you But time will heal this heart felt pain As soon as i see you again. etc.
