GUEST,Tom Ghent Mickey Newbury a Genius Songwriter (67* d) RE: Mickey Newbury a Genius Songwriter 19 Jan 11

Jim and Beer, The way my post fits into all this is very simple.....
Apparently, there was a story that was written about Mickey, "The American Trilogy", and The Bitter End West in LA.....Although I know that Mickey spent some time in California, and may have even worked as a writer for a tv show (it might have been the Smothers Brothers) for a while, if my memory serves me right, I believe that the performance,to which the writer referred, actually took place at the Bitter End in NYC, a few years later....That being said, there is so much out there about the sixties, that is written by people who were not actually there, that it just tied in with the humorous comment that DR.Susan Robbins,(another music veteran from the 60s) made about my cd.... That's all.....Many of us who actually lived through those magical times, hold them extremely close to our heart and just like to see history recorded rather than re-written....No biggy....I Have many stories about Mickey and will gladly tell more as time goes by....Nothing I've said was in any way intended to fault anyone who has read or my reference to any of those articles, only to attempt to clear the water, since Mickey and I were friends............
