I strongly recommend you listen these beautiful folk songs, recorded in Austin, TX in 2007. Link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ER2pzz0z2Pw&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL. Okinawa music is more accessible to Western tastes than Japanese music generally. So far as I can make out, Uchizato never cut a complete disk, but is available on a "world music" CD that can be had from Amazon. There is something to be said for watching the video.
