Don't know about nowadays but I remember when you could get lynched for singing Kevin Barry in certain pubs in the West of Scotland and knew a guy who was assaulted for singing Coronation Coronach (also known as Scottish Breakaway) because it used the tune of The Sash My Father Wore! Then there was someone (perhaps Ewan McVicar or Jim McLean can help out here) who discovered that the words of Kevin Barry fitted ideally to the tune of "The Sash" thus ensuring he was barred from every pub West of Bathgate!
