Hi. I just came across this discussion of the Angus song. I grew up hearing my mom, Ann Mayo Muir, sing it. She was on the Captain Kangaroo show in the early "60 and may well have sung it on the show. I made a little recording of it with Eric Garrison (sans the last verse) back in 1995..and am embarrassed to say that I thought it was traditional! So who is the author, Burl Ives or Robert Schmertz?
