'Bash the Trash'
Junk Percussion workshops involve the making of instruments and then music making from re-used rubbish and various everyday objects. The workshops have been designed for a unique fusion of 'ecological' awareness, breaking the barriers of music, art, craft
and design. After making the instruments we will bang, scrape, rattle, whack, ring and shake the many amazing 'things' that were never originally intended to be instruments. We will create and perform an interactive original composition based on simple rhythms and tunes. Before you leave home to attend this workshop, take a good look around you. What have you got that's broken, unwanted, and, most crucially of all, makes a good noise when you whack it, shake it or scrape it? Whatever it is, please feel free to bring it
along if you can safely do so.

Ticket and Information Hotline:
01482 392706 / 392699 or Book Online at www.eastriding.gov.uk/events

Workshops are suitable for young people aged 8 years upwards.
All workshops commence at 10.30am and run till 3.00pm.
Please bring a packed lunch.
