No, the point is that the lyric sites are not prevented from publishing the material in it's traditional form. Who cares what the new copywrited words are to a 200 year old irish ballad? (besides the fans of Michael Flatley) Especially when they were only changed to allow the tune to be copywrited. Copywriting is nescessary to protect the right of authors and composers to profit from their own work. How many new novels would Steven King write if he could expect that his work would be given away for free on the internet?
