PeterC - Yes, Cornish means "from Cornwall", but surely in this context most people in the U.K. (and maybe the U.S.A.) would understand that to mean that it was the recipe that came from Cornwall and not necessarily the pasty. Similarly I had Lancashire hot-pot the other day and I don't think it was made in Lancashire. I also suspect that if I were served Black Forest gateau in Hamburg, it wouldn't have been made in the Black Forest. gnomad - I like the stegosaurus description. Maybe that's the answer to the problem. Mind you, the European Commission would probably complain that they didn't contain any stegosaurus!
