Might have to run in the middle of this... but here is a start. As to romaniticism, I have been thinking of this when Allan asked if I'd like to live like... and my answer about my health. It is really deeper than that. Among nomadic Indians I travelled with, yes, I would be healthier. But among nomadic Romany people, it would not matter as much. When a nomadic Romany friend George and I would take law students to Washington, for a varriety of reasons, reasearch, lobbying, meetings with other travelling communities, we would use a car with a T-tag, one not registered as it was in the process of being sold. I'd toss my pipes in the boot, and George his "fender bending tools". We'd take almost no money and sometimes would return with a different car, instead of a rental, George would sell that car and pick up another to sell. We'd drop the law students off, say at the national archives, George would fix dents in cars, I'd busk, then we'd put on our suits and go to the Capitol building to speak about Romany and Travelling rights. Must run so to cut to the chase, we did not worry about getting all the potential difficulties planed for, but took what we needed to live in the moment of need. hell I am being called, more later...
