My purpose in raising this was to find out whether anyone on Mudcat had had experience of this kind of thing happening. Have similar festivals been 'rescued' in this way and, if so, what was the outcome? It may reassure some people that a few members of the former organising committee are now involved with the Town Council in various ways and will thus be involved in organising this new festival.
