So playing for dancers is "dire", eh? My son is a World Champ, toured with Riverdance, and plays six instruments himself. Not every musician is up to snuff when it comes to playing for dancers. Requires the ability to keep in time, and some find this beyond their ability. The dancing in competitions is certainly as healthy for children as ballet comps, modern dance comps, soccer and hockey plus any other sport or activity that reaches a competitive level. I'm sure your presence in the audence for "Jig" will not be missed.
