GUEST,Craig Hood I'm offering both of my albums for free (2) II'm offering both of my albums for free 08 Mar 11

Hi

Craig Hood here, some of you might know me.
I've been a regular at a lot of folk clubs/singarounds in central Scotland over the past 9 years.

I usually travel between 45 minutes and an hour to visit folk clubs, and I'm usually the furthest travelled on the night.
I'm based near Dunfermline, but I'm currently attending clubs/singarounds at Haddington, Newtongrange, Dunblane; Glasgow and more, all quite a hike.

You can now download my 9 track Forest light and 17 track Nothing music albums for free at full quality. Go to my website for details.

The Forest light album includes the song "I don't feel so good" which got me into the final of the Glasgow festival of songwriting competition.
The song "Forest light" got a special commendation in the 2007 Falkirk folk club songwriting competition.
It is all acoustic guitar with occasional harmonies and two cover versions.

I make up each song in a different way, sometimes stumbling on a chord shape and trying out different chords from there.
Most of my lyrics were written without me having any idea about what the song is going to be about, it just unfolds as I write it.
So I never have any intention of making a song that fits into any kind of category, it just ends up being what it becomes.

For that reason, I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but you can listen to tracks before downloading, so you've nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time.

The "Nothing music" album is nothing like "Forest light", being all instrumental music using synth/midi programming/talking samples.
But, each song was created in the same way, basically starting with anything, a chord progression/drum rhythm/melody then adding whatever I felt like adding till I knew it was finished.

Because there is a massive amount of variation in moods, some of you will hate some tracks on Nothing music, but try listening to the last tracks from 13 onwards, they are all nice mellow songs.

Cheers

Craig
