@ Leadfingers -- "Jeely Piece Song", believed by many Scots to be traditional is, quite defintely by Adam McNaughtan.
@ Snuffy -- couldn't access your blue clicky, but the same Mr. McNaughtan is also responsible for a parody of "Bogie's Bonnie Belle", by the same title as you give.
Presumably proof that a song that appeals spreads so fast that any attribution gets lost?
