Forget about tab for mandolin, except for demonstrating chords. For that, get The Mandolin Chord Book: http://www.amazon.com/Mandolin-Chord-Book-James-Major/dp/0825622964 Once you get something out of that, take the time to learn to read music notation. That's where the gold is, in terms of thousands of collections of tunes in every conceivable genre. It is one of the easiest instruments to sight-read for, in my experience, and that is how you can learn tunes, at least the tricky bits you can't pick out by ear. W-O Yes I do know the original poster is long gone, but I still like to make this point!
