Richie Black (misused acct, bad email) BS: President could top charts (25) BS: President could top charts 31 Mar 11

I am not one to listen to the UK Top Chart show, (well not since the early seventies.) I was amazed to see the highest climber this week is a recording of "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" by Barack Hussein Obama ! Seemly he recorded it when he attended Columbia University in New York City in 1981.

Reggie Yates who presents the show, said "it has been the most requested song on both Radio 1 & 2 all week".

The original recording was of course by a group called "Looking Glass" and composed by Elliot Lurie.

It's not the first time politicians have entered the UK charts, in July 1958, Ted Heath and his orchestra reached number 24 with a song called "Tom Hark". And in 1979, Jeremy Thorpe, a former British politician who was leader of the Liberal Party from 1967 to 1976, reached number 27 in the charts with his version of Elton John's hit, "Don't let your son go down on me".

Let's hope he gets to the number one slot this Sunday when the new chart is announced.
