A couple of yeares ago I and several friends were playing in Mary Murphy's in Brandon during our annual tour of Ireland. It was a Sunday afternoon and there were a few visitors and locals in the fairly small bar.

It was considerably noisy so after a few songs and tunes we stopped. Surprisingly, the people at the bar who were doing most of the talking asked us to keep on going as they were listening and enjoying it.

So we did. When it had quietened down a bit later they requested Carrickfergus be played again, so it was.

That said it was not as noisy as trying to play in The Endeavour in Whitby on a Friday or Saturday night!!!!
