Well-loved, long favored Scottish folk singer, Alex Beaton is in hospital in the Nashville TN area in critical condition. Alex suffered a rupture disc that blocked his heart function a few days ago. He was revived by CPR and rushed into surgery. The extent of damage from his heart stoppage is not yet known. Likewise the extent of nerve damage from his spinal injury has yet to be determined. But Alex is breathing on his own, is conscious and has some signs of good nerve function. My thoughts and prayers are with Alex and his family.
