I'm usually quite disappointed in clumsy British sci-fi plots, they're way too pedestrian, too many boring housewives (with boring little husbands), too much tedious so-called romance, too much domestic bla bla, too many stories featuring brats intended to be of interest to mumsy types, too cringingly sentimental and little in the way of the vast sweeping imaginative horizons I want in sci-fi. It's like they're scripting Eastenders in space.
