Moonbeams Presents.. Lau

Friday 30th September.. @ The Bell Hotel, Driffield, East Yorkshire

Doors 7.30pm Start 8.00pm..

Winner of 'Best Group' in BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2008, 2009 & 2010 Winner of 'BEST LIVE ACT' Scots Trad Music Awards 2009

Lau are a trio consisting of guitarist and singer Kris Drever, fiddler and composer Aidan O'Rourke and accordionist Martin Green. The three men are all acclaimed musicians in their own right and have a slew of awards and nominatons between them including Drever's Best Newcomer from the BBC Folk Awards, O'Rourke's Instrumentalist of the Year at the Scots Music Awards and Green's nomination for musician of the year in the BBC Folk Awards.

In front of an audience the trio are renowned for pushing their compositions and each other to new heights. With seemingly telepathic musical communication, ten minute epics will be infused with a spectrum of emotion: the perfect foil for Kris's poignant vocal numbers and some eminently quotable stage banter.

Their cutting-edge sound and charismatic flair have earned the trio an exhilarating reputation at clubs, concert halls and festivals, and now you can see them live on stage at Moonbeams.

"…quite frankly the best band in the world right now" (Channel 4 Music)

Supporting Lau this evening will be David Ward Maclean..

Tickets are £14 and available from www.wegottickets.com
