The lads are going to pick some quoins (corner stones) tomorrow, but the quarry is closed for 2 weeks from tomorrow evening. Ali, the builder, said he had rung the quarry to see how things stood, and was prepared to vent his wrath, but he said the poor guy on the other end of the phone was nearly in tears with the stress! So it looks like a little more may get done in the next fortnight, but that the main activity won't be until mid August.

I was bent over my front flowerbed this afternoon, dead-heading the roses and yanking a few weeds out, when my backside got beeped by one of the labourers (Geordie) passing by in his van.
