this song was collected by the Hudlestons and is in Songs of the Ridings. It was sung around the Whitby area until recently, Ihave a friend in her 80s who remembers singing it at singing nights at Leas Head Farm in Littlebeck when she was a girl. I sing it now, but cant claim any continuity.
