Wee Davie (stalwart supporter of the Star Folk Club in Glasgow) tailored his raffle prize to suit the season -- in winter it might be a couple of leeks and a packet of broth mix. After the usual prizes of the guest's cd, a bottle of wine etc., this was always much anticipated because it was so wrapped up that the content couldn't be guessed in advance -- and it always raised a round of applause, especially as Davie lived on a restricted budget. Fond memories of a nice wee man who enjoyed cheery company at least once a week and said his thanks in the best way he knew.
