Robert Reigh was on the Beeb this morning saying the Tea Party has won, and a lot of safety nets being removed eg. for the elderly is part of the price of raising the borrowing limit. Meanwhile the rich will continue to get richer, tho' to what end remains unclear. I think the Right always have sufficient thickness in all departments to beat Liberals into submission. Obama is being forced, as Blair and Brown were forced, rightwards simply to have a chance to remaining in office. The Right aren't really amenable to debate. Anyway, it's really about The Golden Rule - 'Whoever has the gold makes the rules.'
