"I don't think hurdy-gurdy players are going to learn much actual technique from Hardanger playing but they might be informed in lots of other ways". Yes - the music itself. I mean, there are people who don't relate so much to technical issues of drones or bowing, but would still be interested to hear about the tunes they play in Norway, and what they sound like.
