GUEST,Jeremy C-G Folklore: Sword dance Research in Europe (25) Folklore: Sword dance Research in Europe 05 Oct 11

This is my first time using this group, so hello to all! I am a dancer from Boston, MA, USA and I am currently traveling around Europe for a year collecting and learning different hilt and point sword dances on a fellowship. I started in August and have been in France, Italy, Basque country, and Spain (where I found several dances with choreography very similar to italian dances!) and will be continuing throughout Europe until the end of next July. I am taking lots of pictures and videos as well as collecting as much of the history and literature about these dances as I can. I would love to know about any contacts that members of this group may have on the continent! When I return I look forward to sharing these findings with those who are interested. You can follow my travels at starofswords.wordpress.com , which also includes my non-sword specific days (can't see dancing every day!)
I would be excited to hear thoughts, questions, or suggestions as this research progresses!
